Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy carries out an approach from the integrality of the person, with the main objective of promoting autonomous and balanced participation in all their activities of daily living (basic, instrumental and advanced), which leads to improving their condition or quality of life. For this reason, in APAES we provide its users with a service with specialists who act as facilitators to improve their abilities, modify the environment and the task, based on the needs and roles of each individual.

Taking into account that neurological conditions affect the nervous and neuromuscular system, the execution of the person’s activities of daily living is limited, since the alterations can compromise cognitive, motor, sensory, emotional and social functioning. Therefore, the work of the occupational therapists is aimed at enhancing the degree of functionality and participation based on their abilities.

The Occupational therapists of our institution, will be in charge of evaluating, identifying, designing, executing and monitoring the person, the task and the context, so that the performance of the users is assertive in all the environments in which they operate. and according to their stage of development.
