Neurological rehabilitation program


The Neurological rehabilitation program at APAES is aimed at people 16 years of age and older, where attention is emphasized in individual sessions which address the needs of adults with a neurological lesion. It basically involves injuries or diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, such as: spinal cord trauma, head trauma, cerebrovascular disease, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, Guillain Barré syndrome, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, neuropathies, Alzheimer’s, dementia, among others.
Motor, cognitive, emotional and sensory aspects are addressed, seeking to optimize functionality and independence, therefore the treatment is carried out jointly by an interdisciplinary therapeutic team made up of psychologists, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists and speech therapists, in favor of better participation and autonomy in basic daily activities at a social, work and recreational/sports level.
